Halloween Spooks

Here is Tara's pumpkin. Jack is of course one of our favorites.
Duane made the Cat and Dan the traditional Pumpkin face.
.
Kevin added the partner to Tara's by carving Oogie Boogie from Nightmare before Christmas.
Carving is serious business at our house.

We had fun this week carving pumpkins for Halloween. My daughter Tara and her family came over for Family Night and we covered our kitchen counter with guts. Pumpkin guts that is. Madison could hardly wait for Halloween. She wanted to dress as a pirate because she thought princesses and stuff were not scary enough! Mom compromised by making it a cute pirate costume. Way to go Tara on sewing such a cute scary costume. Watch out though - she may never want a cute costume again!

When Trick or Treat time finally arrived it was a cold and we were worried that Madison might not get to go out since we had a huge rainstorm at about 5:30 p.m. But it cleared up about an hour later and off she went with mommy and daddy. Madison informed me that she hoped to get chocolate and candy corn because that was all she liked - go figure! I shot this picture from my deck just as Madison was leaving to Trick or Treat - the rainstorm was followed by an amazing rainbow.
